When life gets in the way, one of the first things to get neglected is my craft time. Lately life has been getting in my way, so I haven’t had much time to create much of anything. But, I did manage to find a few minutes to case myself casing Dawn McVey. I was supposed to be cleaning up my craft space, but the scraps we screaming for attention.
The only way to make the screaming stop was to obey the voices! LOL
When I sat down to photograph a few cards, I really wasn’t paying attention to what I was doing and forgot to change the settings on my camera. So I decided to share with you the difference in the photos when using the AUTO setting and the MACRO setting. Both are taken with the flash off.
You can really see the difference in the quality of the photos and the macro setting clearly produces a better photo. When I started photographing my cards, I had no clue how to get the best photo. And my photos still need lots of work, but they have come a long way.
Have you noticed we card makers spend a ton of time on the internet and on the computer. We are on the forums, shopping, surfing blogs, uploading photos to blogs and other sites, researching techniques, new products, tips and tricks and anything else our fingers lead us to. It’s a wonder we ever find time to create anything.
I scoured the internet for photo tips, hints, clues and whatever else I could absorb. One thing everyone said was to use the MACRO setting (the little tulip). My photos have improved somewhat from a year ago, but clearly still need more work. So what are your favorite photo tips and secrets? How do you produce your stunning photos?

Wow, there really is a difference in the photo shots of the card! I, too, am in the process of trying to learn to take better photos - even built a light box (but can't seem to get that to work better either). Great card.
I wouldn't have thought there would be that big of a difference! I just got a new camera this week and it has lots of buttons and settings that I am still playing with. Your card is very nice, I love the little rhinestones scattered around.
well if i could ge the hang of photoshop elements...apparently it is the you beaut thing with photos...i too...have miles and miles to go before I get good....someone said a lightbox helps heaps...i have the link somewhere Michelle if you are interested!

Michelle, beautiful card, and you are right, the macro setting does made a difference, and for me, I get better results when I use the flash. I do think that I spend way too much time online, but it's just so fun!
