Ladies Ink October Challenge
Ladies, Ink, the blog group I belong to has monthly challenges. The very talented Christyne is responsible for issuing our monthly challenges. If you have a few minutes, check out her blog. There is a link on my side bar.
This month’s challenge was one layer, one color, one embellishment. And by ONE embellishment, she means only ONE – ONE brad, one whatever.
That’s it.
Sounds simple – NOT!
I’ve thought long and hard about what to create and played with a few different ideas but nothing that I really liked.
Then, out of the blue, while I was at work, this idea for a one layer, scored, square card with a Christmas tree popped into my head. Unfortunately, I was stuck at work for the day, but as soon as I got home, I put this one layer, one color, one embellishment together.
My base is 5 ¼ square on a textured navy blue that I got at Hollos. I don’t own a Score Pal, but do own a Top Score Multi Board which I really like. I got mine at Overstock.com for about $18.00. I’d like a Score Pal, but . . . . it's not in the budget right now. I scored all the way around the card, stamped in SU Craft Whisper White and added my bow.
The bow is made from ribbon I bought on clearance for $1.00 at Michael's. I wasn’t sure how I felt about this ribbon because it has the wired edged, but honestly, I really like bows made with it and love the way the bow holds its shape.
Since this was a one layer card on navy blue, I did add a 5” square of white cs inside.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you have a wonderful day filled with all that your heart desires!
Stamps: SU Lovely as a Tree
CS and DP: Hollos Navy Blue
Inks, markers and coloring tools: SU Craft WW
