Outside the box

Have you ever made one of those cards that are outside your comfort zone and then been unable to decide if you like it or not?

Well, this is one of those cards for me. Lots of colors I normally wouldn’t put together – I don’t do lots of bright colors, but these colors do go together.

I used Kraft for my base, stamped Unity’s distressed dots in SU’s Baja breeze, stamped my dragonfly (a Unity freebie) in Craft White and then I played with the layers over and over again. I just couldn’t get a look I liked even a little bit. So, I went to bed.

In the morning I realized the card needed something more than just a button. So, I got out one of my curly flourishes and inked it up with some Versamagic Sahara Sand and had a good old time stamping the flourishes. I paper pierced the dot around the dragon fly, added a button and some DMC floss.

Then I assembled the rest of the card.

I’m still not sure how I feel about this one and it is definitely outside of my comfort zone, but sometimes ya just have to step outside your box to discover new things.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful and blessed day!

You can't go wrong adding flourishes! And I love, love how you stamped the dragonfly with the dots. Gives it a sense of flight!

Don't you love it when you think of just the right thing? Sometimes a good nights sleep is all you need.
