Special Blessing

I never seem to have a sympathy card on hand when I need one, but then most of us don’t. These are not the type of cards any of us enjoy making. Thankfully, I don’t need one right now.

I got SU’s Special Blessings for my birthday and it’s been sitting on my craft table for a couple of weeks patiently waiting its turn for a little love.

I finally inked up the cross and learned that this cross looks better in dark ink. I tried it in a few lighter blues for a softer touch and really just didn’t like the look at all. So, I grabbed my Pacific Point pad and loved the look I got.

I stamped my image twice, then cut one of the images. But, when I cut the cross, I cut close to the cross for a little extra pop. I mounted my cross with dimensionals, on my oval cut with my nesties. I used my CB Swiss Dots folder for my background and mounted everything on some basic black.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful and blessed day!

Great idea to pop up the cross. I think this is a lovely sympathy card. The embossing folder you chose is a perfect textured background.

I always love the pop out look, but never can seem to remember to do it myself. Thanks for reminding me and showing off this little idea with a great creation.

The card has just the right amount of colour, I think. It has turned out beautifully.

Did you change the blog background? Or have I just not noticed before now?

Simple, elegant and perfect for the occasion.

I stopped making sympathy cards for "just in case". It seems like whenever I have them in my stash, someone we know dies. That actually happened three times in a row within 2 months time. So now I wait until I need them to make them.
