Sleigh bells ring, are you listening

Ok, so maybe it's a little early for Christmas carols, but I made my original card for the SCS Challenge TLC227, Faux Burnt Edges. Well, honestly, this is really more my speed. Last time I tried real fire was a disaster. I tried soot stamping. . . .yeah, not something I should do. A ton of wasted cs, lots of burnt paper later, and a small smoldering trash can and I never did get a look I liked.

So, faux burnt edges – I had to try it. I used a very neglected SU Bravo Burgundy and a much loved SU Soft Suede for this card. I didn’t have any shimmery cs, so I made my own and here’s a close up of it.

I really liked the way this card turned out and it was pretty quick , so I made a couple of different versions for possible Christmas cards this year.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful and blessed day!

These are beautiful, simple but elegant. I should start my Christmas cards in July, I do not get my Mojo monday done until almost Sunday :)

Lovely cards! Loved the story of burning cs. I stay away from flames and exacto knives!

I like the faux look....

I was teaching soot one day and this lady had her daughter with her...she was busily telling the daughter what to do and not watching what she was doing...yes....she burnt her card right up....nearly herself too!

This rocks!! I like the burned look but fire is not my friend - I'll have to tried this!! You HAVE to tell us how you made your own shimmer paper! Enquiring minds want to know!

I am going to have to try that, your edges look great. Yeah, me and real fire is not a great idea either.
