Sally sells sea shells by the sea shore

I was asked recently what my stamping style was. Hmmmmmmm. Tough question. I don’t have a style. I have lots of styles, depending on my mood, my inspiration and my needs. I guess my style is hodgepodge. But that sounds kind of . . . .hmmm mixed up . . . .

but eclectic . . . .

eclectic sounds . . . . . . . .

. . . . . exotic.

I like exotic!

But one thing I realized is I am a basic, no frills kinda girl. In my personal life, I can dress it up when I need to, but for the most part, I am no frills – jeans and t-shirt kinda girl, and so are many of my cards.

In life, I wear a couple of special rings from my wonderful boys, a #1 Mom necklace from my boys, basic diamond earrings from a love from long ago and a cheap watch from who knows where. . . same stuff virtually every day.

I can dress it up wonderfully when the need arises, and I can mingle with anyone from the country bumpkin to the congressman . .. I’m eclectic. My cards are pretty much the same – but I like a variety of techniques and mediums. ….So, here’s my basic card – a simply scene, inspired by Michelle Zindorf’s sandcastle card here.

I love her work. When I grow up. . . . . ok. . . . . IF I grow up, I want to create like she does. She makes it all look so easy! She really is an inspiration and so very talented. I would love to attend one of her workshops, but I am brayer impaired. What she does with a brayer, I try, with minimal success, to recreate with sponges.

I like scenes and things that make sense. I like order. I like bold and bright sometimes. I like soft and muted. I like fun and whimsical sometimes. I like cutesy sometimes. I like simple. I like sparkly, I like elegant. I like such a variety. I like masculine lots of the time (maybe it’s because I am surrounded by BOYS in my life!) I like a little of all of it. How ‘bout you? What’s your style?

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful and blessed day!

Love your card Michelle...that scene is beautiful!

I think my style is classic, clean and cute or so I've been told. I do like my style though and wouldn't change it for the world!

This is gorgeous....whatever your style may be! LOL! I think I tend to be pretty vintage for the most part, but at times I deviate too....

Michelle your card is amazing - good job!
I like a variety of style too, depending on my mood, but my "typical" style is simple, elegant. IRL jeans and t-shirts, jammies on the weekends for as long as possible!

Love that card! I too am a Zindorf fan. Would love to go to a workshop. My style is also (IMO) hard to define. What I look at that inspires me is not what I end up creating. I am definitely more clean and simple, but love techniques and layers when I see others do them.

Wow! Great card!!

I'm a t-shirt and jeans gal myself!! I have to dress up for work but weekends are my fave - comfy and casual. :)

Thanks for linking the Zindorf blog - I always love new places to find inspiration!

Love the a la zindorf....style...i think you described me pretty much when you were describing your own stamping style...all depends on my mood, my time allowance, what tech or creation I wnt to master!

Don't give up on your brayer ...it CAN be your bestest friend!
