Official State Insect

I was over at Gina K’s Stamp TV and there was a color challenge for red, black and white. I love these colors together and just had to play along. You can read all about it here

I used SU’s Riding Hood Red, Whisper White and my black is from Hollos Paper – a cool store here in Ohio that sells cs for a wonderful price. My black is a wonderful thick cs that is black on one side, white on the other and a super weight for a card base. Unfortunately, you cannot order from Hollos on line, but for me, it is about an hour drive and worth every second.

I used Unity’s distressed dots for my background and Unity’s Little Buggers for my ladybug. I just love ladybugs! They are so cute and perfect for so many different cards, and I just learned that ladybugs are the official state insect of Ohio. Really? I never knew Ohio had an official state insect. Hmmmm . . . interesting.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful and blessed day!

Stamps: Unity Stamps Distressed Dots and Little Buggers
CS and DP: as listed above
Inks, markers and coloring tools: Palette Noir Black, bic markers, white gel pen
Extra goodies: thickers, Nesties Labels 2, MS white twill

An official state insect? I suppose if you had to have one at least a lady bug is cute! Your card is wonderful!

Beautiful card! Too bad Hollos doesn't ship - that paper sounds amazing.
I wish the ladybug was our official insect. I think ours is a mosquito. LOL!

I want black and white cardstock!! That sounds awesome! I always cut a white layer for the inside of a card with a dark cs base so that is genius that they have it already done for you!!

Your card is extra cute because I love ladybugs. I think they are good luck aren't they? Since I didn't know the NH state insect, I googled it. We have the ladybug too! How cool is that?
