Just a Note

Yesterday was a busy day – lots of misc. projects. I was up early, weeded the flower beds, talked Andrew into installing my clothes line – this is the one he took down for some unknown reason, did a lot of misc. cleaning, and of course, laundry since I had my clothes line back. I also ended up at an Easter Seals garage sale where I found a couple of cool deals. One of them was a jewelry stand that I converted into an ink pad/marker/reinker stand. I’ll show you that tomorrow.

When I finally found time to play, I started this card. I used SU’s Symphony Jumbo Wheel that I bought specifically to use for Shane. I used 365 Cards Challenge #72 – Musical Monday which required that we use a sheet of music, musical paper or music notes on the card.

As I looked at it over and over, played with paper, different colors – and in the end, had nothing. It just wasn’t working for me. So this morning, after my coffee, I played with this, not expecting much, and ended up with this. I’m not sure if I’m in love with this card or not, but it’s better than the pieces and parts that were on the craft table last night.

Shane had to take band last year in school and he ended up loving it, so this card will eventually end up in his book bag next year, since he wanted to take band in the 6th grade, and it will be his first year in the “middle school”.

My sentiment ended up not being centered in my HPH, but it was too late to fix it. I’m not happy about it, but since I hoard my HPH instead of using it, I was pretty proud of myself for actually using it. So, what is it you hoard?

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful and blessed day!

Hi Michelle - I think the card came out great. I love how you just colored in the music instruments!

I also find myself needing to walk away from my work sometimes...then bang..I'll get an idea of how it will come together!

Very nice, I like the way your instruments really stand out. What a great idea to save it for you band student's book-bag. Can't wait to see your jewelry stand!

Oh yeah,my name is Gina and I hoard embellishments! I am getting better, but if I have something that I have just a few of, I tend to hoard them rather than use them so I don't run out.

This image has so much going on I think that the layout you chose was perfect for it, even if it wasn't what you envisioned. Nice colors.
